When money slips through your fingers in your 30s and 40s
Your income is increasing year on year, you’re paying the bills, yet there never seems to be enough left over to feel secure or to enjoy life guilt-free.
Here’s the issue.
Your “free” time is not what it used to be.
For some, it’s family. For others it’s work, social life, or the constant juggle. You no longer have the same head space to keep on top of it.
The other challenge is complexity. You’ve gone from a single income to bonuses, pay rises, maybe some self-employment, investment income, and with that come more expenses.
When life was simpler, your money management could be inefficient and it didn’t matter. You had the time and energy to make it work.
But now your time is limited, energy comes and goes depending on commitments, and money left unmanaged can quickly become stressful.
The solution is structure.
Structure gives you the ability to scale with your money as you work hard to get it working for you.
It’s how you set up your bank accounts. How and when you pay bills. Whether you use credit. How much you put aside for unexpected bumps. And how much you’re putting away to grow through investments.
The hard part is the more you earn, the harder and more inefficient your money management can get. And the longer you leave it, the harder it becomes to turn around.
The good news is, it’s never too late.
I’m not a massive fan of strict budgeting. Life changes quickly and budgets tend to snap under pressure.
A spending plan, on the other hand, is more powerful. By structuring your bank accounts to allocate money in real time, you’re automatically putting funds into the right places without relying on willpower alone.
Most people know this kind of structure will help, you can Google spending plans or use AI to help set up a framework.
But what stops most people from starting is the overwhelming feeling of what to do first.
If you’re at that edge of starting but can’t do it that’s were getting some professional help…well helps.
